drive less

Today I had to do an errand somewhere way out of the way for work. I was thinking about bugging people I know to use a car, but decided against it. After waking up at 7a, taking two buses, and 40 minutes of travel time – I got here! It feels so great to be independent!

It’s hard in suburbia where nothing is nearby, AND my family thinks it’s silly to walk when you can drive there in a quarter of the time.

But I walked to the post office this afternoon to mail a book. It took me about a half hour, but I got a chance to listen to a mix cd I’d gotten for Christmas. It was really relaxing, I saved gas and money, and I got exercise!
