Although 43 Things won’t let me give up on this personal challenge, I am. It’s just not possible for me. Something psychologically about me prevents me from ever becoming a morning person. Oh well.

Here we go again…
Monday – Got up after 15 minutes. This, however, was an exception because I was at my mother’s house for Easter and had to leave in time to get back to my place before classes.
Tuesday – Got up when my alarm went off. Used the bathroom, got something to drink, and then realized that whatever my reasoning was the night before to set my alarm two hours before my first class no longer seemed important. Reset my alarm for an hour later and went back to sleep, only to hit the alarm for 30 minutes before getting up the second time. I’m a bad influence on myself.
I must have a harder time with this than anyone I know. I put my blinds up so it is as bright as possible when I wake up AND I put my phone on the other side of the room, and I still end up sleeping an hour after my alarm goes off the first time. This morning my alarm went off, and I just walked across the room, picked it up, and took it back to bed with me. Does anyone have any ideas to help me get up on the first try????
Ok, so last week didn’t go so well. My goal for this week is to get up right when my alarm goes off at least twice this week.
Monday – ok, so Mondays don’t count….
Tuesday – 32 minutes. Guess I need to get my goal done tomorrow and Thursday.
Wednesday – didn’t happen. I wish I could get my act together. :(
Monday – hit snooze for 40 minutes.
Tuesday – hit snooze for an hour and 12 minutes and didn’t get up in time to take a shower. :(
Wednesday – hit snooze for an hour and 4 minutes. Not much of an improvement.
Thursday – to my own utter amazement, I got out of bed as soon as the alarm went off! I think the main factor that helped was that I forgot to put the blinds down last night and the room was fairly bright this morning when I woke up. I would do this every night, except that I have a roommate and, more than likely, she doesn’t appreciate the brightness this early in the morning.
Friday – .....we’re not even going to talk about that.
This morning I hit the snooze alarm for an hour and a half. (I’m on spring break and I don’t have a specific time to get up, but this is a regular habit.) My goal is to not hit the snooze at all and to actually get up as soon as my alarm goes off every single day. And, I want to break this habit by the end of this semester because my boyfriend’s roommate is moving out and I would like to be able to stay at his place more often, but I think he gets annoyed when I won’t get up right when the alarm goes off.
I would also like to get back into the habit of getting 8 or less hours of sleep a night. I’ve missed out on so many events and gotten behind in my schoolwork this year because I’ve slept so much. I’m sleeping my life away. So here goes….wish me luck!
