at the farmer’s market today, and it was great. I bought the usual tomatoes, dill, basil, potatoes, eggs and cheese. I also tried 2 new items – pattypan squash, which after talking to the farmer he didn’t charge me for it; and elk sausage and pepperoni. I’ve never tried elk before, but I will make the sausages tonight with some new potatoes and dill, and some green beans from my garden!

So I had to cancel the veg delivery 2 months ago, but all is not lost. I’ve actually been doing pretty well on this one. The last month, I went to the farmer’s market twice, and bought most of my groceries for the week there. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of some of the items, such as the local cheese, eggs, and herbs that were a really great price. I’ll definitely try to buy more of my groceries there, rather than at a traditional supermarket.
I arranged to have an Organic veg company do weekly deliveries to my house. It’s a reasonable price, it will save me time, and it makes organic fruit and veg buying so so easy! I had a fantastic orange this morning, with no worries about pesticides and harmful chemicals.
