actively discourage telemarketers from ringing

I answer the phone this week..and this poor little man of a foreign nationality is on the other end saying “hello I am from Telecom”, before he could get any further I told him we didn’t have any dealings with them anymore (for damn good reasons)he says “I know that is why i am ringing we would like to know what we did wrong”...I am not the best person to ask that question too cos I am bitter and twisted with their crap Broadband service..so I said “your broadband connection was crap” please leave us alone and don’t ring again..he’s like “oh thank you very much have a nice day”

we moved this year and have not listed our phone number…this has decreased the number of calls a lot….but we are still getting the odd one….we now try the approach of giving the person on the other end the third degree on how they got our number….like we are on some witness protection programme..guilt is a wonderful thing

as much as I hate people coming to the door and selling things I can choose not to answer the door…when the phone rings however and its ALWAYS (well nearly) someone trying to sell something I can get really P’Oed.
They need to understand I am NEVER going to buy anything off anyone who rings me regardless of how great a deal it is on principal.
I think it is my duty to construct a list of cutting, sarcastic replies to all their standard bs questions and then share it with the world…
I’m sorry if you do this for a job…I suggest getting a real job that comes with more dignity than rifling through the phone book with a pin.
