...but i’m reading this fantasy book called the magic of recluse http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0812505182/ and in part of the book, the main character studies to become a master woodcraftsman. granted, he uses magic to infuse the wood with “order” – but i can’t help but wish i could make wood furniture after reading some of the descriptions.
ok. yeah. like i said… hokey.
but there’s more … a month or so ago, i bought a $10 table from ikea for my bedside table, and i stained it. it was the first piece of furniture i had ever stained, and i was amazed how the $10 table looked like it was at least a $30 table after the grain popped out of the wood with the stain. it was really amazing.
