(His questions are regular font, my answers are in bold font)

Does god love ME, too? Love is a human emotion. God isn’t human so this question is obsolete. Don’t take this metaphor too literal, BUT…does the sun love every plant that it shines on each day? Of course not. The sun isn’t human and doesn’t feel love emotions as we do. However the sun is necessary for the plant to live. The God/human relationship is similar.

How do you know WHAT god thinks about ANYTHING? No one knows what God thinks and just as my answer to question 1 is merely a hypothesis and a best guess based on observation, anything else you hear about how God “thinks” or “feels” is merely the same.

Why should I care if god loves me or not?
You shouldn’t. You should care if you love God or not. First you should have a definition of God you understand though. To me God is pretty much one body. The body is known to you and me as the universe. So to me it is my responsibility to love the universe, and all of it’s contents and to do so is to love “God”. The difference is being connected with all things, being aware of that existence and loving all as you love yourself, ORRRR simply living selfishly believing you are entirely a self-contained unit separate from the rest.

Want to get closer to God? 13 months ago

Try this prayer each day:

God, I offer myself to Thee, to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy power, Thy love and Thy way of life. May I do Thy will always. Amen.

If said with an honest heart and pure intentions, that should do it.
Enjoy!

At our best, we are angels to each other. 13 months ago

The more a person is willing to lose their selfish wants, their self-pity, their own self-centered, self-serving ways…the more that person will be able to attain a life closer to God. The self is the enemy of the pure soul and the antithesis of God.

So many people pray and pray, hours and hours, yet all they pray about is God please give ME this, or God please give ME that, or God please help ME from my sorrow and hardships. All these prayers are in vain and full of selfish desires or self-pity. And still somehow these same people feel so abandoned by God when they don’t get the things they prayed for, or they feel abandoned by God that He doesn’t care for them…when in fact it couldn’t be further from the truth.

At our best, our soul is united with others, cares for others so greatly, and thereby is united with God and all His creations. Simple as Jesus taught, love thy neighbor as thy self. It is this denial of the self that perpetuates miracles and everlasting happiness, fulfillment, and closeness with God. If a person can do this, they are no longer a prisoner of their physical body but rather a part of a greater purpose. Then they may finally be free of selfish desires and rather live to God’s purpose, not their own.

At our best, we become angels to each other. No longer living an existence for trying only to improve our own lives, but rather the lives of the world around us. I leave you all with this quote from Einstein:

“A human being is a part of a whole, called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest… a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires…Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

Good luck to all trying to reach this goal. It will take a lifetime as none of us can claim spiritual perfection, only spiritual progress in our lives. May God bless you along the way.
