We just hit Redwoods National Park in Northern California last week. =D

Might squeeze in John Day in September. We’ll see!

Dashed... 21 months ago

Argh. The trip to Glacier/Teton/Yellowstone is on hold for the foreseeable future. Nuts.

Maybe I can make it out to John Day this summer at least =/

Glacier, TOO!?!?!? 23 months ago

Yes, so not only will we camp in Yellowstone and get to visit Grand Teton…. turns out we’ll actually be staying in Kalispell, which is right next door to GLACIER NATIONAL PARK!!!

I’m so stoked about this trip. ZOMG.

Yellowstone! 1 year ago

I finally get to go to Yellowstone!!! HURRAY!

This May/June we’ll be going for a week. Of course I’ll pop over to the nearby ones as well – Grand Teton and I think there’s one or two others right near as well.

YES!

Two more down! :) We spent the last 5 days camping out by Crater Lake National Park, and swung by the Oregon Caves on the way home. One more visit and I will have all my home-state’s completed! Yaaay! :)

I want to take a day-trip out to the John Day Fossil Beds sometime next month. Then, I think we will make a road trip up to the Seattle area & have long overdue visits with friends there as well as visit the 5 or 6 or so sites in the area. Yaaay! Maybe next spring sometime we can do that.

I got out my good, old, beloved National Parks Passport last night and geeked out on it. We were in Boise, Idaho last week for family stuff and didn’t get a chance to see any of the parks there! (But, to be fair, they were all SEVERAL hours away and would have taken a whole day to get there and back)

So, since I have BEEN to 2 of the 4 in Oregon but don’t have stamps, I’d like to get back to those ones for my stamps, hehehe. I got all excited to go to Ft. Clatsop this weekend, figuring we could swing by the Goonie house as well (I’m the ONLY Oregonian kid who was alive when the movie was made and hasn’t been there! sob!), but then I realized it’s January, and Astoria is frickin cold in June most of the time. These ones should wait until the Spring, I think.

The John Day Fossil Beds are totally lame upon remembrance, but oh well.

Closer to Summer: Crater Lake & Oregon Caves (I’ve never been to EITHER! I’m such a bad native Oregonian!)

I gave in and geeked out over my National Parks Passport on my recent trip to New England. Now it’s a quest: I MUST fill this damn little book! ;)

Too bad Oregon only has 3, boo! MA had so many that I didn’t have time to get to them all! And they were so much closer there – I’ll have to drive 6 hours to get to the cool one in my own state.

Ahh well. Big sky country, and all that, I suppose!
