This summer I’m going to save up from my job and by the time I start college, I’ll have a good violin. I don’t want a cheap one. Anyway…I know it’s a long way off but it’s the best I can do. Right now my life is basically on hold till the summer begins…and not just because of this. I’m having to put everything off until I graduate HS. bleh. Then, after I get the vioin, I’ll either have enough money to get lessons or I’ll have to teach myself. Probably the latter…but either way I’ll do it.

I’m thinking about learning mandolin instead. Not that I think the violin is too hard, but I really like the mandolin also and I’m having trouble deciding which instrument to devote my time to. Maybe I’ll try both, who knows…
I’m 18 and I’ve wanted to learn to play violin since I was 8 years old, but I’ve always went to small schools and none of them offered orchestra. The closest I got was band, where I played flute, so I do know how to read music. Now I am determined to learn violin, I know I’ll always regret it if I don’t try.
