I’m finally finished with my 50 book challenge as of today. I’ve finished off with my last book (which took me longer than is standard for me to read), and I am now fully finished with this challenge. It’s nice to see that personal challenge off of my profile page. I’ll think up another challenge for the rest of the year, probably, and I certainly won’t stop reading books. Let’s see how far I can exceed my own expectations!
The final five books were:
46. The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis *
47. Life with Father by Clarence Day
48. Life with Mother by Clarence Day
49. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling *
50. Emily of New Moon by L.M. Montgomery
I feel very satisfied at my list and I look forward to seeing how my reading goes for the rest of the year.

I hit 45 books read yesterday. That’s 90%!
42. The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis
43. Rococo by Adriana Trigiani
44. Summer Blowout by Claire Cook
45. Fragile Heritage by Sara Hylton
I’m set to finish one more book this week, and I think I can get halfway through another. I’ll be finished with this for sure within the next two weeks. Hoorah! Then it’ll be time to decide whether I’m going to make a new challenge for myself.

82% Complete
I’m up to 41 books, which sets me at 82% completion. I’m in progress reading Fragile Heritage by Sara Hylton, which I’ve read before, so that will be a quick read. I’m scheduled to read The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis, and part of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling, so I will finish at least two more books this week, with the possibility of my picking another off the shelf to finish as well before the week is out.
38. Pretties by Scott Westerfeld
39. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling *
40. Specials by Scott Westerfeld
41. The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis *
Rereads denoted with an asterisk.
I’m flying along with this 50 book challenge. It makes me feel pretty good about my reading habits!
For what it’s worth to people out there, I already have an account at Shelfari, GoodReads and LibraryThing and the only one I actually use is at LibraryThing. I do not care for the other sites. Please don’t advertise them at me. Thanks!

I’m three books closer to completing my challenge for this year!
35. Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis *
36. The Flirt by Kathleen Tessaro
37. The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis *
An asterisk denotes a reread.
I’m 74% of the way finished – 37 out of 50 books read! I’m so excited; the end is in sight!

68% Finished!
I’m at 34 books now out of the 50 that I’ve set my goal to this year, and I’m quite excited about that. The end is in sight, and after a slow start, it’s exhilarating to feel that I might finish many months early.
Here are the ones that I read since last time:
30. Mary Poppins Comes Back by PL Travers
31. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis *
32. Prince Caspian by C.S. Lewis *
33. The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
34. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
denotes a reread
I’m in progress with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling, Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis and am about to start on The Flirt by Kathleen Tessaro, which I got as a give-away on a blog. I’ll hit 35 this week for sure, which is 70% complete. It’s very exciting!

I finished my Anne of Green Gables read-together last week, culminating with Rilla of Ingleside, and then immediately this weekend started on two new read-togethers: The Harry Potter books and the Chronicles of Narnia. I’m nearly done with The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe as well as being nearly done with Mary Poppins Comes Back. I’ve just got a few pages left on each. Not making much progress on Diana of the Crossways, and I’ve already read my three chapters of the first Harry Potter book. Not a very productive week in terms of what was finished, but I’m not complaining.
I’m at 29/50 without counting the nearly finished books. That’s 58% completion. After I finish these other two, I’ll be at 62%. I’m getting along in it! I expect I’ll be able to finish at least a month early if I keep this up.

Yet another week has gone by! It seems like they’re kind of slipping away from me lately.
In the last week, all I accomplished reading-wise was finishing Rainbow Valley. I started Rilla of Ingleside and read about two pages of Diana of the Crossways but the fact of the matter is that I’m at 28 books and haven’t budged since about this time last week. Whoops.
This week will be better, I think.

I wasn’t overly productive this last week. Mansfield Park took me longer than planned to read, so I ended up finishing it on Sunday, then reading Anne of Ingleside Monday and yesterday. I started Rainbow Valley last night and I expect to be able to finish it today, quite easily. That will put me at 28 books finished for this year. That’s 56% completion! How’s that for progress? :) And it’s only week 20 of this year, so that means I’m technically about 8 weeks ahead of where I need to be to finish on time. Whee! :)

I read a few more books this week, though not many. It seems like every weekend day that I get from work starts out with the best of intentions, then languishes in distraction.
24. Victor Kugler: The Man Who Hid Anne Frank by Rick Kardonne
25. Making Avonlea by Irene Gammel.
I’m reading Mansfield Park by Jane Austen right now, and as soon as I finish with that, I’m on to read Anne of Ingleside.
I guess, if nothing else, I’m now halfway done with my 50 book challenge!

Keeping It Up
Despite my thinking that this last week was fairly unproductive, I’ve made good progress on my goal in the last week.
21. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
22. Anne of Windy Poplars by L.M. Montgomery *
23. Anne’s House of Dreams by L.M. Montgomery *
I really didn’t like Wuthering Heights – I’m left to wonder what’s so exhilarating about it that it comes so highly recommended, but I still loved the Anne books. I’d be heavily disappointed if I hadn’t, actually.
I just got an early reviewer book in the mail today, so I’m going to start on that today and hopefully hit 24 books read by tomorrow evening, if not sooner. I have the day off and I’ve nothing more appealing to do than to read to my heart’s content, so I think that is what I’ll do.
I was feeling a bit down about my 50 Book Challenge a few weeks ago – like I’d never get done with it – but now I think I’ll do just fine and maybe even finish all of my to-be-read books before the year is out. That would be the ultimate accomplishment.
