We finally got through the 7 min barrier but only by doing 8 min, 7 min and 6 min run with 2 min walk in between.. we’re hoping to do same again at the weekend and then up the middle run to 8 mins. Phew, this is hard work!!

My sister struggled with it today, I was kinda OK. Its still a killer but I had the power of music behind me…I had just reached the last hill when Harder, Better, Faster, Stonger by Daftpunk kicked in on my IPod and it gave me the push I needed to run up that hill with a smile on my face. :)
We seem to be stuck at this stage. I’ve had the cold for the last 2 weeks which stopped me in my tracks. After such a long break I was really worried about getting back into it.. and it was tough, but not as tough as the last time I tried it so that’s encouraging.
I’ve done this 3 times now.. first time was tough but OK, second time I quit half way through, third time (today) was really, really tough but I got there with all the PMA I could muster!!!
We’re supposed to moving on to walk 2 mins, run 8 mins but we’re gonna keep with the 7 mins a couple more times. There’s a 5K race on 16th June that I wouldn’t mind participating in but if we’re not ready, that’s OK.. I’d rather be comfortable with my progression.
We had to measure a mile on a chosen route then run/walk and record our time. We ran for 6 mins, walked 2 mins and did it in 11mins 35 secs. We could have done it quicker. :o(
I was dreading this, to say the least, but it was actually OK. The 3 mins recovery walk flew by but when I was running, I just got into my stride.. it was very windy but the sun was shining so maybe that helped :o)
Second turn at this.. and even though the weather was better it was just as tough!! I’m getting into the mindset of it though, I’m no longer dragging myself out the door for my run.
It was horrible weather! Pelting with rain but we persevered and it got easier with every 3 min run.
