Learn and do

I tried two hairstyles from my inspiration folder this week. They suit me and are super easy for those days when I don’t have a lot of time.

I’ve got more cardigans than I need now because I finally started using that pattern I made last year.

I decided to teach some people at work how to sew. One of them is working on her first top. It’s cute too :-).

I am currently going through a basic drawing book I bought years ago (How to Draw Anything by Mark Linley). I am working my way through the exercises until I complete the whole book. The last time I drea for fun was back in high school if you don’t count my random doodles (which I had even got out of the habit of years now). My only challenge to date is that I have been making scientific drawings for the past decade or so. This makes it a little difficult to draw for art. Scientific drawings usually need detail and accuracy. Art requires less accuracy. It is not a big struggle but I notice the two different paths in my mind.

I made a heart garland for my bedroom using scrapbook paper I have had for about six years and rarely used.

I made a beaded cross today from a tutorial I have always been meaning to get to. Great way to start 2012 if you ask me.
