After a long application process and waiting period, my acceptance to the committee caught me a bit off guard. When I was notified over the phone, I actually was so shocked I declined initially, saying “There’s no way I can do this!” It seemed overwhelming.
But later I called back and said I had changed my mind.
What it is is a very large committee that meets six times a year in Harrisburg, the Pennsylvania State Capital, and works on a government level addressing state-wide issues largely regarding mental health and correctional facilities.
