In a sneaky way I have been gaining in strength.
I live in a rural area and since my well water is so hard, I have to buy water or invest in an expensive filtering system.
I bought a 5 gallon water jug and started using the local water machine to fill it. This meant lugging 5 gallons of water after being filled. Plus pouring from that huge jug as well.
I noticed after a while I could lift if easier and lug it in all the way without taking breather breaks.
I started pouring water into a pitcher for easier use, and I noticed I could do that more easily as well.
Also, I don’t have trash pick-up so I lug my trash and recycled items to the landfill and bins. This has been getting easier as well.
Lastly, I had a stash of coffee beans I’d put off using because I couldn’t find my grinder. Finally, I decided to pour enough beans to cover the bottom of a plastic bowl (for traction) and used the back of an ice cream scoop to crush them.
I immediately noticed the difference in my arms, a little later, my chest and back muscles. But a couple of months later, I felt something I hadn’t in years….my abdominal muscles.
I never would’ve thought crushing coffee beans would work my abs.
