Continue making pottery

I led a project that produced about 200 ornaments, which will hopefully raise money for Hope House tomorrow at the arts festival

I’ll be making Christmas ornaments with the children at my organization. These will be given to those who give us donations at the holiday.

I made a big bowl and three slump bowls. Tonight I trimmed them and am satisfied with my work. I miss doing this every day.

This is a test of a new process I’m using. I’m hoping for excellent results!

I still have a studio full of bisqueware ready to glaze. Weather-willing I will do so tomorrow and see if I like the glazes I made. If so, I’ll run another glaze firing. This is the exciting part of doing pottery. A little scary, but exciting.

I’ve been making mugs lately. Think I’ll make some more. Gotta make an urn for BJ, too, I guess.

I need to make more pottery!

It was fun. I made a few pots (do my hands and wrists ever hurt!) and I finally got around to spraying all my mugs with my sample glazes and I loaded the kiln. I have fired it yet. But I had fun. Wish I could do more.

It’s not much – $35 – but on my so-called income it’s a major purchase. But I refuse to give up on my pottery. And it’s necessary to how I make pottery.

I prefer spraying my glazes onto my pottery. I love the depth it gives my work and the variation I can get with this. I own two sprayers, neither of which is working! Argh! I tried today to spray my test glazes on some mugs. They clogged up immediately. I’m going to have to buy a special glaze sprayer. Crap.
