say what i mean and mean what i say

I told my daughter to straighten her room last night. To me straighten is pick the clothes off the floor, throw the trash where the trash should go etc. Not major deep cleaning. I asked her before she left for school if she did it she said yes.
Putting some shoes in her room, not only was it not straightened, it was demolished! Now, I almost never follow up with a punishments (guilt and see #17) but today I did. I told her last night if she lied to me (as she does many, many times) I was keeping her electric Violin for a week. So I did it. I have it in safe keeping. The guilt is not overwhelming

I know exactly what I’m going to say, how I’m going to say it and I mean it! In my head….I’m such a pushover. I’m a salesperson dream. With my family, friends, strangers, I’m the nodder, you know, the person in the group that says “Yes, I know, I agree, your right” all the while nodding in agreement when my head is SCREAMING at me to speak up and mean it. Geeze I need a spine. Lol, but I have to straihten it first!
