the climactic? ending.

i made this video whilst throwing it…

the video totally STOPPED filming it after i threw it but it was hilarious because i waited around for 10 minutes, having to stop my first video and start over as boats kept coming by, then jet skiis, etc.

so i finally throw it and a jet boat comes out of NOWHERE and i almost hit it… which was awkward and hilarious.

anyhow, here’s the letter i put inside…

modus operandi.

i got a glass bottle… with a cork!

now i feel way better about chucking it in the water… like it’s officially a ‘message in a bottle’ and not just ‘paper in an empty soda bottle.’

haha.

i slacked on this and didn’t do this first thing upon entering water-territory. but i’m by the water now… i don’t think you’re supposed to throw stuff in the water here so i’m going to take my name off my letter, lol. then throw it. i don’t want to be guilty by association to a bottle.

hardest part is done...

well… tonight i wrote my bottle letter. it was pretty simple. i’ve decided to go the route of wanting someone to get back and let me know they’ve found it. so it wasn’t containing anything thought provoking – but mentioned the site and told them it’d be cool to e-mail me and let me know they found the letter or drop by the site and (with explanations as to how to find this specific goal) let us here know that they’ve found someone’s bottle.

i live in michigan right now but i’m moving to the florida keys in 3 weeks so i’ll be on the ocean. i’d like to put it in a nice bottle? not just a pop bottle or something – guess i’ll have to drink a bottle of wine or something. anyway, my plan is when i pack my car up for the drive-move … to keep the bottle somewhere easily accessible, and at sometime on the drive down… whenever is the first time i’m at the ocean … throw it out. i don’t want to throw it out where i’m actually going to be living because god knows fate would probably have me stumble upon my own bottle someday at the beach.

i’d be interested to know where others have thrown their bottles out from? i wish i knew i’d have the opportunity early on to be out on a boat or something – otherwise i’m going to have to find a pier that goes relatively far out. i don’t think i have an arm strong enough to give it a good toss out from the shore, ya know?
