...Taste: Hot chocolate with marshmallows, gum that tastes like real mint, spicy chicken gumbo
...Smell: Pine-scented candle, fresh air, lavender, chicken roasting in the oven
...Touch: My electric blanket, new pillows for the couch, hugs from my kids
...Sound: My music, silence, nature
...Sight: The twinkly Christmas tree, my clean and orderly house, snow on the tree branches
Ahhhh….life! :-)

...here’s what I’ve done to get closer to this goal…
Sat with my colleague and laughed and laughed…on 2 occasions
Snuggled up in my electric blanket
Watched 2 old episodes of 30 Rock, my new favorite show
Didn’t overeat
Was really present with my clients
Luxuriated in being home early for a Tuesday night

...I have been feeling very disconnected from my own life.
Disgruntled.
Disjointed.
Dysfunctional.
Blech.
I have basically traded “living” for “existing” and something needs to change.

I’m having more and more of these moments lately.
My husband and I were watching a football game and I was on the couch wrapped up in a warm blanket. I had already been to the gym that day and my tummy was pleasantly full from lunch. We had candles burning in fall scents – cinnamon and ginger.
I took a deep breath and just soaked in all the goodness that is my life.
That’s living instead of existing.
