More pressing than ever 2 years ago

I’M ENGAGED!!!! Hooray- but now with a wedding looming (16 months or so away) I need to start the removal process ASAP or I will have this tattoo in my wedding photos- no makeup ever seems to cover it. Plus, it’ll be nice to take this off from over my heart and give myself as a clean slate to my dear Sam… well, minus the other three tattoos- which I’m totally keeping!

Time to reprioritize this one 3 years ago

At my interview today, I noticed it peeking out of my blouse just when I was trying to look like an executive. Not the best impression in conservative DC to have a tattoo on under your suit in a visible location. I miss being more “hardcore” when it gave me more credibility, not less. But if I keep the others and just eliminate the one standing in the way of professional work clothes and cute strapless dresses, I can still remember me- hardcore or no.

Not removed, but covered for now 3 years ago

Just spent an hour at the MAC counter and spent a pretty penny, but I have makeup that convincingly covers it up for evening. Thank heavens- now I can wear some cute clothes and not be the most conservative girl in the world.

I think I’ll make an appointment for the end of the summer. Maybe it won’t be as pricey as I think… it’s an all-black Chinese character the size of a silver dollar. How much could that cost to get removed? $1000? $500? Does anyone know how much this runs?

I have three, but one must go 4 years ago

So, at 19, I thought it was brilliant to get a Chinese Tao character over my heart, with little thought about it. Now, I have problems being a white girl with a Chinese tattoo, I can’t wear tanktops, cute dresses, or comfy work clothes without flaunting it. I need to have it removed, if I ever plan on wearing a strapless wedding gown and looking classically pretty (think Audrey Hepburn), not like a strange pale-faced ex-emo kid (think Courtney Love). Anyone had this done and have advice on scarring, loss of pigment, pain, etc.?
