because the best thing about reading plays (besides their divine literary and spiritual power) is that they are meant to be finished in one sitting in 2-4 hours. Try doing that with War and Peace. I’ve done most of the sonnets and the summer at the Shakespeare festival and that theatre degree have me well on my way to being done with the biggies. Hamlet, check. Romeo and Juliet, check. MacBeth, check- and I played Soldier, Act II, in a stunning dramatic turn. Comedy of Errors, check. Midsummer, yes. Much Ado, absolutely. And The Tempest.
I think I’ll read the Antony and Cleopatra next. It’s Ben’s favorite and that kid has great taste.
