Matthew 22:37-40

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

For behold, this is my work and my glory – to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

I’m going to keep memorizing more scriptures, but I’ll stop writing entries and taking up all the space here.

The Doctrine and Covenants 101:16

Therefore, let your heart be comforted concerning Zion; for all flesh is in my hands; be still and know that I am God.

This verse is cool because it can comfort you with anything. Really, just think about the toughest problem you’re facing right now and insert it in the place of ‘Zion’. Then re-read the verse and it’s like God is talking straight to you, telling you that he’ll take care of everything.

I think that there’s also some place in the Bible that has the same phrase, ‘be still and know that I am God’, but I don’t know where it is.

The Doctrine and Covenants 82:3

For of him unto whom much is given much is required; and he who sins against the greater light shall receive the greater condemnation.

(Last entry was actually supposed to be written as number 46)

1 Nephi 3:7 (From The Book of Mormon)

And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

I love the song that was written from this verse.

Right now I know about ten or eleven verses of scripture, I’ll check this off once I know fifty by heart.
