see the world

It was great, but I didn’t stay long enough. I’ll need to go again. I loved seeing the mountains.

so I’m going to Beijing again after all!

It sucked me in, and although I will never be satisfied with how much of the world I’ve seen, I’m blissfully happy! (Never listen to an addict though.)

We took a twenty hour train trip to get there, we stopped at Nanjing and went through Suzhou, which is called ‘The Venice of the East’. It’s just beautiful there and next time I want to actually get off the train, meet the locals, ride the sampans, and draw the beautiful scenery. Every time I go through the Chinese countryside I get an ache to be out of the city.

I’m so glad, the more I think about it the more excited I am. I’ll be going at the end of April, I don’t know how long I’ll be there for, probably only a few days which won’t give me enough time to see as much of it as I would like but the point of the trip is to see the Latter-Day Saint temple and I’ll get to see that and so that’s more than enoug for me. Until I go I’ll need to read up about the history and culture there because I really don’t have much idea about what it’s like there. I wonder how different it is from China.

I’m disappointed, but instead we’re going to Beijing, which won’t be as fun since I’ve already been there but we’ll still have a blast. I’ll be able to go to Hong Kong in the future if my brother ends up there. (And I think it’s very likely that he will.) This time I plan on seeing the Summer Palace and more of the Forbidden City.

I’m going to Shanghai again in March! Things are just getting better and better! I’m so excited! I plan on going to the museum and the circus again but best of all I’ll get to see a bunch of my old friends there.

This May I’m either going to Korea or Hong Kong and at the end of the year I may be moving to Brisbane, Australia. After I graduate high school I want to go to Europe to live with my brother, probably France.
