learn to sew

Turned two more t-shirts into another tote bag. This one is much sturdier than the last, and I think the stitching is a little better. I ought to do some reading on when to use a zig-zag and when to use a straight stitch, but for the moment, I’m pleased with the results.

Resized this monster t-shirt into a tank top. Haven’t quite gotten the hang of hemming the curves around the neck and sleeves, but I like it.

It looks better than it is. It is my first attempt at sewing in a long time, and I’ve never worked with T-shirt material.(Made from a T-shirt I never wore.) The bag is kind of floppy, and probably not very strong, though it will serve for quick trips to the store.

If nothing else, it reminded me how to thread the machine, wind a bobbin and sew a seam. Still have a lot to learn!
