immersion= the best way to learn

I realized this after taking a 2 week trip to Panama last Spring. I learned more in those 2 weeks than I ever had in 8 years of taking classes & using self-study books. I am now hoping I can return to Panama (and maybe Costa Rica too) for 6-8 weeks this summer. I am applying to a school in Italy, so if I am accepted there, I will be leaving for Italy in August. I would love to really step up my Spanish skills before I leave because 1) it is something I have wanted to do for SO long 2) I think having a firm base in Spanish will help me better tackle Italian. Right now, I am just trying to get some financial details worked out, but I’m really hoping this trip comes thru!
