make a shawl pin

I am having problems finding copper wire without going into a chain store. I am going to have to find a place online that sells it, but I hate paying shipping and handling for something so small.

I actively worked on this tonight and am hoping by tomorrow night I will be able to check this off the list.

Was in a bead store in Walnut creek yesterday and I got some ideas, but Im not sure that any of them would work.

These are so expensive and I dont really know why. Its a pin that holds a sweater or wrap closed and I desperately need one. They are hard to find and run about $25. I have no idea how to make one that looked cool, going to have to go to Michaels soon to see if I can scrounge up some parts.
