Still Chugging Along! 8 months ago

Since my last post, I have read 4 more books.

~ The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan
~ The Circus of the Damned by Laurell K. Hamilton
~ Cut by Patricia McCormick
~ Storey’s Guide to Raising Dairy Goats by Jerry Belanger

The Eye of the World was a book that I had put off reading for some time simply because it was so darn thick with very small print and thin pages, but it was a fantastic read. I couldn’t put it down once I started it! The Circus of the Damned was just as good as I expected it to be and fit in with the rest of the Anita Blake books wonderfully. Cut is a book I read years and years ago and wanted to read again. Definitely worth reading again!! Storey’s Guide to Raising Dairy Goats was so incredibly informative and wonderful! If you want to raise dairy goats, read it!!!

Right now I am reading A Wiccan Bible and hope to have it finished before Thursday so I can dive into another book. Hopefully I can purchase a copy of Storey’s Guide to Raising Pigs, because I really want to read that.

Doing good so far!!! 9 months ago

I know I haven’t really been keeping up with this, but since the last time I posted, I have read 7 other books.

- A Slice of Organic Life (I forget the author)
- Shadow of the Hegemon by Orson Scott Card
- Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton
- The Laughing Corpse by Laurell K. Hamilton
- Storey’s Guide to Raising Chickens by Gail Damerow
- Sabriel by Garth Nix
- Enchantment by Orson Scott Card

So, I haven’t disliked any book yet. In fact, all of those are going on my favorites list. They are just amazing books. I highly recommend the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton and anything by Orson Scott Card. Garth Nix is also a very talented writer and I enjoyed Sabriel so much that I finished it in one day. I am currently working on The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan, which is the first book in the Wheel of Time series. So far, very awesome!!

Week Four, Complete!! 10 months ago

I just finished Ender’s Shadow yesterday and I love the insight it gives you into the inner workings of everything that goes on in Ender’s Game. It is just a wonderful book and I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. It is a wonderful addition to the Ender’s Saga.

I have no idea what I am going to read next, but I am sure its going to be good.

Week Three, Already Complete! 11 months ago

I read ahead last week and already finished my third book of the year, A Wrinkle in Time and I had forgotten how great the book was. I have fallen in love with it all over again.

A huge plus that I can add to this New Year’s Resolution of mine is that I am snacking less since I am usually reading. Snacking less = losing weight!!! Woohoo!!!

Week Two, Complete 11 months ago

I just finished by second book of the year, Speaker for the Dead. I am very surprised at how much I liked the book. I know that I loved Ender’s Game a lot, but I had no idea that Speaker for the Dead was going to be this great!

I am getting ready to read A Wrinkle in Time since it has been a while since I have read it. I will probably get it done before this week is up, so I might actually get ahead a bood. :)

Week One, Complete 11 months ago

I started a New Year’s Resolution to read one book a week in 2009 and I completed my first book last night. I just finished up Madeline L’Engle’s A Ring of Endless Light and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I have been wanting to read the book for several year now, since L’Engle is one of my favorite authors, but just kept putting it off. Now I don’t have any excuses. I am very happy that I decided to make this my resolution for this year.

I think I am going to read Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card next.

Happy Reading!
