Maybe this new leaf thing wasn’t a good idea. I didn’t leave work until after 6:00 pm again. I didn’t work out, but I did make it to the gym. I had this massive sinus headache and I felt exhausted. I decided to sit in the steam room for about 20 minutes, then I came home and went to sleep. Maybe tomorrow I’ll feel better. I did remember to weigh myself, though… 138.5 lbs.

So much for the new leaf. I didn’t leave work until after 6:00 pm today…. owell, at least I got my work out in. Today we did cardio and lower body:

Cross Trainer – 20 minutes, 1.79 miles
10×3 football situps
10×3 walking lunges @ 10 lbs.

10×3 calf raisers
10×3 leg curls @ 30 lbs.
weight: 139 lbs.
I’m trying to turn over a new leaf. Usually I put way to much effort into my work, which leaves little time for working out. Today I thought I would try something different…. like leaving work ON TIME. Although I still have a ton of things to do, I actually got up and left at 4:30 pm like a normal person. I was able to spend a couple of hours at the gym, which was nice. Here’s my review:
Cardio:
Treadmill x 21 minutes – 1.38 miles
Stairclimber x 11 minutes – 376 stairs
15×2 straight situps
15×2 side to side situps
10×3 lateral pull downs @ 30 lbs.
10×3 abcores
10×3 88# assisted dips
10×3 rowing machine
10×3 incline bench press @ 10 lbs.
10×3 sitting kick outs
weight = 142 lbs.
There’s nothing like starting over…
...and over….
........and over…..
............ and over….. AGAIN!
It started yesterday with target practice. I finally got a long awaited for moose tag (archery). I’ve never been hunting in my life so I thought I should at least go out and practice. One thing led to another, and the next thing you know I was out hiking, bow in hand, looking for moose. I didn’t see anything except a few deer, but I did manage to get about five miles in. Pretty good for someone who’s been slacking for six weeks.
Anyways, it got me motivated to try again with this so-called workout routine. As usual, I have to start slow and work my way back up. This time I switched work out partners. My sister is into her third week so we’re going to try to work out together. It’s better that way. My other partner is far more serious about working out and I always felt like I slowed him down. He’s in it to be buff. I just want to tone up. So, with yet another new start, here’s what I accomplished today:
Cardio: 20 minutes on the treadmill @ 3.5 mph (1.17 miles)
3×10 sit ups
3×10 triceps extensions @ 5 lbs.
3×10 arnolds @ 5 lbs
3×10 abcores
I weighed in at 141.5 lbs.
I can’t believe I’ve been slacking off for three weeks! Argh! I was on “vacation” so I more or less didn’t do any “real” work outs. Well, not unless you consider house cleaning a work out… that and driving… I was on the road quite a bit. Owell, I know I worked out twice at the beginning of the vacation, but I don’t remember what I did. I guess today is yet another “new start.” Here’s my workout for the day:
Four sets each:
15 reps of dumbell clean & press (15 lbs)
20 reps of machine squats (25 lbs)
20 reps of sidebenders (20 lbs)
20 reps of half sit ups
Finishing off with cardio:
11 minutes on the treadmill (.6 miles)
Weight: 141.5 lbs
I changed my routine again. New exercises – some with more weights. Gotta keep it interesting.
I did two sets of each:
10 reps of bent over dumbell row (20 lbs)
10 reps of tricep machine push downs (30 lbs)
20 reps of machine squats (45 lbs)
30 seconds Farmer’s Walk (30 lbs)
20 reps of sidebenders (20 lbs)
20 reps of lat pull downs (40 lbs)
I didn’t have time for any more sets, so I finished off with 25 reps of bent over dumbell rows @ 15 lbs.
Even though I didn’t do any cardio, it still felt like a good workout.
Today’s Weight – 142 lbs
Seventh Week Review…
Ok, this is what I found out about my ability to maintain a steady workout routine. I started out gung-ho, and worked out for five days in the first week. The rest of the time I’ve only worked out twice a week, except once I put in three days. Hmmm, is that a bad thing? I guess considering I had absolutely no routine before this I can consider it progress. Especially considering I am now into my seventh week…
Anyways, today was my second day this week. I only did two sets on the weights:
8 reps of dumbell clean & press (15 lbs)
20 reps of dumb bell squats (25 lbs)
30 seconds Farmer’s Walk (30 lbs)
Again, I finished off with cardio:
20.3 minutes on the treadmill (1.3 miles)
Today’s Weight – 140 lbs
Today I did four sets each:
8 reps of dumbell clean and press (15 lbs)
20 reps of dumb bell squats (20 lbs)
20 reps of sidebenders (20 lbs)
30 seconds Farmer’s Walk (30 lbs)
I finished off with cardio:
20 minutes on the treadmill (1.03 miles)
Today’s Weight – 140 lbs
Even though I’m not working out everyday, I’m finally starting to notice a difference. I’m getting more muscles in my legs, which is cool. They are starting to look normal. Normal is good, it’s what I want. No bulk, just normal. Anyways, I didn’t work out today or yesterday. I went shopping and got my hair done, then I went to the movies. Girl stuff, LOL. I guess an irregular schedule is better than none at all. I did work out the day before, which I didn’t log yet. I did another 1.4 miles on the treadmill @ 25 minutes. I didn’t have any time for weights since I got to the gym so late that day. Overall, I’m making slow progress.
I worked a little late today so it was all cardio – I didn’t have time for weights.
25 minutes on the treadmill (1.48 miles again)
Weight: 141 lbs
