This week... 10 months ago

I will find out how to use the gym membership that came with my new job, and cancel the one from my old job.

Then I will try to get back into the habit of exercising regularly. My last 2-3 months of graduate school, I became a sporadic exerciser, but I no longer have any excuse not to exercise regularly.



A small challange to myself 20 months ago

I will try to go to the gym Mon-Sat of this week. It should help with my end of the semester stress and it looks like I have a small amount of time available each of those days.



Haven't posted on this goal for a while 20 months ago

But, I’ve been tracking how often I go to the gym and it’s at least 8 times each month. Some months are better than others. However, I know that consistantly working out at least some is better than not doing anything at all.



Gym 22 months ago

For the last 3 months or so, I was doing the same boring thing at the gym over and over- the elliptical. This is my favorite cardio machine, but I realized a week or two ago that I really should have some more variety, instead of working out on autopilot.

So this week I did the treadmill and stairclimber one day, the rowing machine another, and tried the international dance class on two other days. Well, my muscles are slightly sore, so I guess that means I challenged myself again, and I discovered that the dance class was really fun! I also had forgotten how much I liked the rower.

I am definately keeping variety in my gym routine from now on.

I will continue my goal of trying to exercise 3-4 times per week.



I've been exercising... 2 years ago

just not writing about it here because I’ve been so busy.

My goal is to get to the gym 8 times per month and work out for about an hour.

This is a very realisitic goal for me because work and grad school are both so hectic.

Some weeks I get there 3-4 times, which makes me get more gym visits per month, but I try for about 2 a week, so I won’t feel guilty during weeks that I don’t have as much time.



Back at the gym 2 years ago

I didn’t work out at all last week because I was so busy, but I made it back today.

My goal is to go 2-3 more times this week.



Fitness Goals 2 years ago

I only made it to the gym twice last week instead of three times like I planned.

I’ve already been to the gym today, and will go again tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. I figure 4 times is do-able and will help me to get a good amount of physical activity.



July 2-8 2 years ago

I got to the gym three times this week as planned.

Next week I will try to do the same. I plan to go on Mon, Thur, and Fri since these are my 3 least busy days.

I will do cardio all three days and wieghts on Mon and one of the other 2 days.



pretty good week 2 years ago

I wanted to go to the gym 4-5 times, but then ended up being sent to a certification class for work and grad school on Thurs and Friday and only made it to the gym 3 times.

But I did get in three weight workouts and a total of 165 minutes of cardio exercise, so it was still a pretty good week.

My goal for this week is to get to the gym 3 times.



This week's progress, next week's (Jun 25-Jul 1) goals 2 years ago

This Week:

Wed: 30 mins cardio, 45 mins weights
Thur: 50 mins cardio, 10 mins weights (the muscles I didn’t get to on Wed)
Fri: 70 mins cardio, felt energetic so I did a longer session

No exercise this coming weekend, working 14 hours tomorrow and 12 on Sunday.
Also, on Monday, I went for a walk on the beach, but it was relaxing not really hard exercise.

Next weeks goals:

Gym workouts 4-5 days with 1 to 1 1/2 hours of exercise each time.
