The Sydney marathon date is fast approaching to complete my second marathon, and my already abridged training schedule has taken another turn for the worse. In the last month I’ve contracted a pretty gross infection of the windpipe. I thought it was just the cough that everyone else seemed to be suffering from at the moment.
I “ran” the Gold Coast half marathon last Sunday, which went worse than terribly. In hindsight, it’s probably on account of my body not being well.
I’ll write this week off training, but I don’t think I can afford any more hiccups before Syndonee or I just won’t be able to run.
My training partner seems to be going from strength to strength though. No fair!

A snag is hit
Good news is my wife is pregnant with our second son. Bad news for 2008 marathon plans is she’s due on October 2, which is 1.5 weeks after my planned trip to Sydney to run the marathon.
I’ve flagged the issue with my running partner. I’ll continue training and hope it just works out in the end.
Our first son was 7 weeks premature, so who knows what’ll happen ..

42.2km is a great test of endurance and dedication.
I’ve run one marathon to date on 01 July 2007, but I’d really like to be in a position to do this each and every year.
