I’ve been failing badly at this thing for some time now.
I originally put it down to being sick or the cold, but even without these two factors I’ve found it near impossible to get out of bed early unless there’s some imploring reason to do so.
Maybe I just need to reassert myself.
STARTING TOMORROW, I will get up at 5am every morning.
(fingers crossed)

Waking up at 5am is unachievable at the present time. I’m not very well, so my body is loving its sleep way too much. I don’t mind, as I know it needs it more than I need to get up in the dark, and the cold.
I’ll focus on getting better, then I’m sure I’ll be better positioned to wake up early again.

I’m definitely waking up at 5am more often than I’m not.
I found one great way to increase the chances is to have something that needs to be done to encourage me out of the warm bed at that time. Just this week I got up to watch the Euro finals, to do my ironing, to setup up my web domain.
Seems to work well for me. And the extra time doing stuff is a big help also.

Man it’s hard to get out of bed so early when it’s so cold.
In the past week I’ve probably only met this goal half the time.
It’s no surprise when the bed’s so warm, and the house is so cold.
I guess it’s no excuse though.

I’ve found I’ve more or less been doing this each morning, with the exception of when I’ve been up extremely late the night before.
Getting up at 5am has meant around 1 – 1.5 hours of extra productive time in the mornings – which has been fantastic.
Even if it’s just reading the online news, I feel better for reading it and getting the mind into gear than sleeping in and rushing to get to work early enough.
