learn Russian

I made little stickers for my keyboard, so I can more easily type in Russian.

I’ve set myself my first block of vocab words from The Book. I sort of know how to read and pronounce the Cyrillic letters, so I thought it was about time.

I had borrowed a Russian book from the library at uni that I found was pretty good. But I got sick of having to make sure I re-borrowed the book every two weeks, so I went to BORDERS and they did in fact have this book in stock, so I bought it.

Now, I admit that it did just sit on my shelf for a while (especially during exams) but more often these days I dip into it, read a little bit more. Progress is slow, but steady :D

I’ve been wanting to learn Russian for a while now, but just didn’t have the time. I’m interested in so many languages! Last year, I started to teach myself a little bit of Chinese – it was my hobby language. Now I’m taking Chinese classes at uni, so I figure I can have another language going in my spare time – so I think I might have a go at Russian. We’ll see how it goes.

P.S. If anyone else is a beginner (like myself) and wants a kind of ‘buddy’ to learn Russian with, let me know, mmkay? I don’t know how it would work, but it could be fun …
