read every book I own

I went to this amazing event this weekend in Chicago, and it did not help my goal of reading every book I own because now I own more books! But cheep and pretty books, so I feel like it is justified. I did get one more of my favorite modern author, JoAnne Harris, and I also got to see Nancy Horan at a presentation, who wrote “Loving Frank” and is extremely gracious. I bought “Holy Fools” “The Art Book” and a beautiful copy of “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and also picked up an anthology of Jane Austin’s minor works at the library. Yay for books.

My hang-up on this goal is that I continue to buy books, AND I use the library liberally (which I think is the right thing to do) and so I never really get ahead on this goal, because there is always the next book to read. However, adding this goal a couple of weeks ago did help me to weed my collection and get rid of the books that I will NEVER read and keep only those that I have a good chance of reading at some point.
