Jogged / walked 8km on the treadmill after work today. Now I’ve been to the gym 8 days out of the last 10 and run a total of 66km plus some swimming afterwards (to cool down).
My wife and kids come back home tonight. They’ve been away for over a month now, so this is going to be the difficult bit….
......Keeping it going.
It’s OK getting back home at 8 or 9 pm when I’m here on my own, but I would hardly see the kids during the week if I got back that late every night, not to mention being justifiably executed by my wife.
The only choices are – save it for weekends, but we do stuff at weekends, so it’s not always possible and then if you miss one weekend you haven’t done anything for nearly two weeks.
OR, and this is a very big OR….
......get up early in the morning and run before work.
Oh my god, there I said it, it’s the only logical answer, trouble is I’m rubbish in the mornings and I don’t stop sweating for about three hours after a run, so I would be sitting there at work oozing into my clothes.
The only thing I can think is to just try and do a bit less than normal, like 20 mins or something, but once I get started I generally keep going.
How addicted am I? Thinking about getting up at 6:00 to get a run in before work! These last 10 days while I’ve been exercising again I’ve felt my mood lift, I’ve quit smoking and I’ve hardly noticed, drinking more water, eating less, concentrating better, and just generally getting more stuff done. No wonder I’m addicted.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
