watch all the movies on Jennas list

Finished! Well, I actually finished this last night, but didn’t write about it. Ummm, because I watched seasons 3, then 2 then 1 the voices and animation have gotten progressively worse for me :-) I find it bizarre how they change the voices in these sort of things (as they did in the Simpsons as well). I find it difficult to apply suspension of disbelief and get fully immersed in the story when I keep thinking that’s not her voice. I guess it’s all got to do with character development, viewer feedback, blah blah blah. Anyway, I did enjoy it, and that’s another one off the list. Jenna didn’t put it on, but it’s still gone.

I watched this today with my friend Yanti – she hadn’t seen it either. I had only heard good things about the movie from my friends (Jenna, Steve, all the Titheridges), and she had only heard bad things about it…

My rating, 2.5/5. There were bits that I thought were hilarious, but overall, I wasn’t that impressed. It was an appropriate movie for this afternoon tho, both Yanti and I were tired and not into doing much – and it’s a movie you don’t really have to think about. I think I’m not really a fan of billy bob actually.

I’ve started watching season 1 of Twin Peaks. I’ve only watched the Pilot, but I think I’m already hooked. I’ve never seen it before. It’s very good so far.

I’m also concurrently (well, not at the same time, but I’m mixing them up) watching all of season 1 of the family guy.

I should be able to tick that off the list next week, as well as Twin Peaks – at least season 1. I need to find seasons 2 and 3 as well. I’m going to split the “twin peaks” item on the list into season 1 and season 2 as well.

I just watched this movie. Enjoyable. Again, I didn’t know what I was getting myself in for. I knew it was going to be black and white, but that’s about it. I found the first couple of scenes to be a bit odd. I quite liked the scene with Jack and Meg White and the Tesla Coil, but my favourite had to be RZA, GZA (of Wu Tang fame) and Bill Murray. I thought that was hilarious. I also quite enjoyed the tie ins from scenes to other scenes.

• It’s like when you can’t afford something its really expensive, and when you can afford something it’s free.
• It’s a great place to visit, and an even nicer place to leave.

There were also some beautiful shots. I really enjoyed quite a few of the shots of the actors by themselves.

Jenna also permitted adding “4 Rooms” to the list.

Frickin brilliant. I loved this movie. I knew nothing about it going into it, it was on the list and I spotted it first at the movie store. The score is so good – I have a nice home theater system and Franks voice kept coming out behind me, freaked me out. There are some intensely beautiful scenes in this movie – I’m quite a fan of beautiful movies. The concept of the story is excellent, the end where everything ties together was perhaps a touch predictable – but then again I seem to have a knack for picking the twists in movies (I picked the twist in “The Usual Suspects” about 30 minutes into the movie), but it was thoroughly enjoyable.

9/10. I was torn between 9 and 10 of 10.

My friend Jenna is doing an Honours degree at the university of Canterbury. She is taking some film papers, and seems to be quite a cinemophile (did I just make up a word?). When I was down there she was shocked at the lack of movie watching I did, so I committed to her that I would watch a list of movies that she’s given me.
