Drive to Guadalajara

Guadalajara is fantastic, the Centro Historical is great. The main Plaza around the Cathedral is as majestic as any main square I´ve seen in Europe. I miscalculated the mileage when I planned the trip and it was 400 miles more than I thought. Was it worth it? Driving 2900 miles alone is daunting but now I have the reality of the return and the next 2900 miles. I think I´d fly next time it would probbly be cheaper than driving – Especially since I´d skip Vegas if I flew. Was it worth it? You bet it was! I´ve been roaring along listening to Grateful Dead tapes and yes, it has been a ´long strange trip´

What can I say I´m sitting in an internet cafe facing the Zocalo and I´m nearly there!

I am 6 days into my trip and about 600 miles north of Guadalajara in Los Mochiis, Sinoloa, Mexico. So far I have driven 2300. miles. I could be going faster but, I am alone and I have no one to please but myself. I am getting some great insights doing this.

I been to Mexico 5 times, but never any where except the West Coast beach cities. I’ve read that Guadalajara is the most Mexican city in Mexico. I want to drive down the coast and come back through the heartland of Mexico
