Do you have a weblog? You want easier publishing? 3 years ago

I’d never thought I’d say this, but Microsoft made a very nice (free!) tool to maintain your weblog. It supports Windows Live Spaces, Wordpress, TypePad, Blogger, LiveJournal, Movable Type, Radio Userland, Community Server, dasBlog and weblogs that support Metaweblog API or Movable Type API. I tried it with Blogger (I have a customized template) and it pulled in my look and feel of my weblog into the editor template, really neat. I wished though it would support 43Things, so I could post on there and my weblog simultaneously.

You can download and try it yourself from here

Create your own Meez 3 years ago

At www.meez.com you can create your own avatars to use for all kind of things, like MSN, as user picture in a forum or link to the animated version from anywhere. This is my Meez (it looks like me and it has the same hobby as well!). Have fun making your own Meez :-)

Infrared Photo Gallery 3 years ago

I dugg up this page with beautiful infrared pictures, it really gives a surreal view. Very nice work from Jeffrey Klassen.

Online photo editing 3 years ago

Sometimes you quickly want to edit a photo, removing redeye effect or some other process, but you are not working on your own computer and on your current machine is no photo editor available. Lucky enough the web comes to the rescue in the form of PIXN8 (Pixenate) and CellSea. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, so give it a try and decide for yourself which one you’d prefer.

Dutch radio in Firefox 3 years ago

Today I installed yet another extension for Mozilla Firefox (maybe I should make a list of my favorite Mozilla Firefox extensions, but that’s for another time). This extension enables Firefox (and you) to listen to the majority of dutch radio stations, read the news (RSS from “De Telegraaf”), watch television stations and much more. Get it from http://www.radio-toolbar.nl and start listening to your favorite music station.

Yeeeeeehaw! 3 years ago

I’m cleaning up my mailbox a bit (it got cluttered REAL BAD, I should make a goal out of it) and ran across something funny I completely forgot about.

I don’t like dancing, I feel look like an idiot when I dance. So usually I only dance when intoxicated (so that means no more dancing for me). But there is a way to see me dance, and even funnier, you can (to some extent) control my moves. If you want to make one of yourself, go straight to http://a.muglets.com/ and remember to post it here :-)

More World Cup 2006 Madness 3 years ago

So, you are unable to watch all the matches you want, or you just want to see the important things… Well, BBC made things easy for you, they have a virtual replay center where you can see all highlights of all matches in a 3D animation. Really slick, you can even alter the viewpoints of the camera.

World Cup Germany 2006 3 years ago

Probably you also have noticed the World Cup Crazyness going on right now, or maybe you are even crazed yourself. Microsoft for once listened to the needs of its customers and created the Microsoft Soccer Scoreboard for you to use. With this little widget you see the results, standings and schedule for your favorite team, you don’t need to watch TV anymore to be up to date with the match information. In 2002 I used a SOAP powered Excel sheet for the realtime match data, but this is a much nicer option, except that I can’t use the results in a betting system :-)

You're pityful 3 years ago

Ok, I’ll shamelessly admit it, I’m a fan of Weird Al Yankovic, he is a genius with parodies on famous songs, and most artists even feel honored when he chooses them for the spoof.

Now I found out he gives out a new song for free, you can download it from his official homepage (scroll down a bit). It’s a parody on “You’re beautiful” from James Blunt. The lyrics of the parody can be found here.

Visual Task Tips 3 years ago

On http://www.visualtasktips.com you can download this small freeware program that displays thumbnails of your windows when you hover over the shortcut of that program on the taskbar. It’s really handy if you have multiple windows open and quickly want to locate the one you need without having to alt-tab trough it.
