I've lost 30 lbs!

My skinny jeans are loose! Just keeping on with the clean eating, cutting way back on bread and pasta, and tracking portions.

Vacations make healthy eating hard

Especially when staying w family – the menu and even the timing make good choices and self control harder. About 100 WW points for the week above my normal… And came home to weigh in around 3 lbs above a week ago. Blech. Good start back today though, back in the routine.

22 lbs down

Focusing on clean eating as a lifelong habit… Eat food, not too much, mostly plants, organic and pastured.

Oh, and I put away the size 16 and 14s. The 12s are great and the 10s will fit soon. :)

WW works

I have lost 15 lbs on Weight Watchers! This puts me around (or within 5 lbs of) my previous “normal” and comfortable weight. But still 25 until my goal. If p and I could both get back to college weight- it would almost be like being 20 again, together. He has like 50 lbs to go. I can’t imagine. I hope he keeps it up and doesn’t stop early. I’d love to see him slim and muscled. I don’t ever say so. I love him the way he is. But you know.

WW it is

I have lost 12 lbs on Weight Watchers. Just as great, P has lost 15. It is easier to commit to long term change when it’s for our household. Tracking food may need to be a lifelong habit, as long as we are living the sedentary suburban life. I’m accepting that.

1 yr later

10 lbs lower than last yr at this time. Could be worse, but I still gained 10 lbs in the last 2.5 months. My birthday thru Xmas must just be a stressful, self indulgent time for me. Read a food book today that helped confirm strategy of quality whole unprocessed foods. “Eat FOOD. Not too much. Mostly plants.” using this strategy, in conjunction w my running and yoga goals, I plan to shed an additional 30 lbs, over the next 4 months or so. I can do it. I’m going to eat good food and exercise.

Ups and downs

Being home is challenging; I cook and eat for something to do, or i go out to eat with friends as entertainment. Kind of hit bottom tonight, as I downed three servings of potato pancakes plus an apple oven pancake, at least most of it. Paid the price as I had horrible stomachache. Self-sabotage?
Anyway, nowhere to go but up. Meaning down in weight. Looking at pictures on computer only further reveals my self-delusion. I look more like my overweight relatives than my spry college self.

Week one

I am down almost five pounds this week! I feel like a contestant on the biggest loser. I know it gets harder after the first week, but I am happy. How am I doing it? Just implementing all the strategies and knowledge I have built up over the years but not used!! Writing it down, fruits and veggies and whole grains and lean protein, shooting for 1400 or so calories, exercising. I think one big key has been planning, too. Plan on the weekend and prepack portions so I don’t end up coming home tired and staring at an empty fridge.
