This is a good goal been working on it for a bit, though as I change it around I start to realize that perhaps a habit that is Monday Through Friday and a different one that is the weekend can make a big difference. In being consistently inconsistent, it is still possible and this is coming along well.

The bed is a bundle of paradoxes: we go to it with reluctance, yet we quit it with regret; we make up our minds every night to leave it early, but we make up our bodies every morning to keep it late. ~Charles Caleb Colton
The Journey continues on, I need to start implementing some of the suggestions that were presented in relaxing body and mind to try and be in bed by 2a, though as I think about it perhaps it is not really the goal I am working towards as initially when I set up this goal it was because it made sense.
Yet as I think about it, though it is a good idea the original person who presented it may have set it up as more of a personal goal, meaning that it is not one size fit’s all. So perhaps the reasonable hour is up for interpretation, yet I do know I need to get more sleep, and in that awareness I need to set something up that is more specific to myself.
The saying goes to each their own, in a similar sense, to each person there is different goals, modified directives that work for them. Whereby each goal being individual a person can take a part of it and modify it to their own needs or preference.
In that we each choose our route, but in the journey we unite, here on 43Things, on Twitter and even Facebook, as united effort towards a common goal can make an amazing difference. We are most certainly social beings, through that awareness we often fare better when we are on a similar journey that people are sharing, a direction they are going to the attainment of their goals.
Yet it also delays sleep, or is it a way to open the mind by listening to the silence that is, usually the case.
With the wind howling outside I really don’t feel like sleeping so instead may just take a shower, and do some basic things on the computer.
Afterwards the day will have begun and will be right on track with a productive day. Yet if this wind keeps up through the day may only be able to take a short ride around the block or something.
At the very least it is the smallest things that count towards the bigger goal of riding 10,000 miles by Bicycle by year end.
Though the objective is to be asleep by 2am I figure someone who is so used to going to bed at 4a really needs to take smaller steps, to not completely go cold turkey but to make an effort to go to bed a bit earlier each night, which is why for tonight the bedtime is planned to be 3a instead of 4a.

Well still working on the sleep factor, old habits tend to die hard, but surely as time progresses it is possible. Yet I think the biggest challenge is clearly, that sometimes in the absolute silence of a quiet house often thoughts come with clarity.
It is that creative time that keeps my mind busy when I otherwise should sleep, at least that is the general idea. Yet it is often far to easy to become distracted so really I should work on Meditation to calm the mind and silence it for those times when sleep should be forthcoming, what do you think?
Indeed it has been so long that I have been going to sleep at 3 or 4 in the morning that sleeping at 2a is a challenging goal for me, the clarity of thought sometimes at the strange hours is what makes a difference.
A unique interpretation, of the idea of the night as a time to think, of the late moments, those moments of absolute clarity without distraction. Though I understand there is importance in sleep, I often wonder what thoughts may be if I close my eyes and not think about it. via Home Of Knatchwa | Posterously Speaking
Perhaps that has something to do with it, why I sometimes find it difficult to sleep, or why there are times that in silence, without distraction there is an increased ability to process the day.
Since I set this goal, I must try and try again, to make it a point at least Monday Through Friday to Sleep before that clocks says 2a … a challenging goal indeed don’t you think?
There was a point in time, not so seemingly long ago I actually did sleep, at a somewhat reasonable hour … it was in times past when I was working day by day. What Happened?
Well I left the jobs I had then, things changed, life changed, I begin to focus on something different, on new objectives, of being in business for myself, on being a person who kept well connected. The problem with this line of thought, is simply that as time progressed I begin to find myself going to sleep later and later, until I settled on a somewhat odd time of 4a just about every night.
Since then I have done that consistently, though the problem is in the fact, that it has become a habit, to change that happen requires some major changes of the day by day. Which is why I need to refocus on it now in 2010. Though I am shooting for more like 1a.
