I know it’s kinda lame, but I finally took first place of 15 properties. I took second place in the first quarter. For only being open 15 months, that’s a pretty big deal. Some properties have been open several years without ever placing in the top three. So I’m feeling pretty good about it – even if it is lame.

I may have asked this before, but I’m not sure I got a satisfactory answer.

A woman who can’t get enough mattress fun is called many things: strumpet, trollop, slut, whore, tramp, vamp, soiled dove, wench, floozy, harlot, scarlet, hooker, tart, hussy, bimbo, jezebel, minx, slattern, etc.

But what do you call a man? (Other than TG or Bill or Heavee or Simon or Hawk or just man or guy.)

I had my first annual review performance yesterday. My boss started out by explaining the eleven performance categories with four possible review scores for each category: excellent, very good, fair, and poor. He cautioned that they never rate anyone poor unless they’re letting you go, and they never rate anyone excellent because nobody is ever that good. I wanted to ask him why they even offer a rating that nobody could ever possibly ascend to, but I thought better of it and shut my mouth.

Then he gave me my review.

Of the eleven categories, I received four excellent scores.
He said I was, indeed, that good.
In fact, they wrote that my scores were among the highest in the company.

He and the VP said they never have to worry about my store and that I make their jobs easy. They also told me not to tell anyone about the four excellent scores, because they have rated one other person (the trainer) with an excellent in one category and she would commit some ancient Japanese suicide ritual if she knew I got four.

And it came with a nice raise (considering the times). I wasn’t expecting a raise at all, so that’s a nice surprise.

I can’t tell TG, because he’s on vacation and didn’t (prolly couldn’t) call last night. So I had nobody to tell. And it really kinda sucks not to be able to share good news and collect a “waytogo”. So I’m sharing here.

It’s not terribly romantic, but I think he’ll like it.
I bought TG two new tastes for this goal.

Besides… that’s not all he’s getting.
