today i participated in a pro-democracy march in hong kong. it was a great experience – 50,000 showed up to march. because there were so many people, some had to wait for hours to walk. i’ve always thought of hong kong people as indifferent to politics, but i was impressed with and so proud of what i saw and the spirit in which they took to the streets today. there are lots of interesting political things going on here right now and i definitely want to be involved and learn as much as i can.
