be in a play or short film

I sent in my deposit to take a 4 or 5 week acting class starting in January on Wednesday nights. If the first class sucks, I won’t go back, but hopefully it’ll be fun. People who know me say it’s something I should do, and I’m looking forward to it. Yay for trying new things.

well that was a flop. spending aprox 7 hours of my saturday in the car or sitting around waiting to practice for a 5 minute part in the play isn’t worth it to me. other nightmarish parts i won’t go into. i’ll have to defer this goal for a while.

Went to very strange audition where the director only had one script, and just told me to read a few pages of all the characters… afterwards, she casually told me that yes she thought i’d be good for it, and to come next saturday to figure out which of the 2 female parts would be better. My only fear is that if my audition was so far from… rigorous… i wonder who these other actors will be? But anyway, glad i pushed myself to do something i knew i wanted to do, and something i’m afraid of (terrible, terrible stagefright, should be interesting). Anyway, the performance is at the end of november. If I get through it, I’ll check this off, and be excited to do so.

apparently some community theatre in wellesley is putting on the odd couple at the end of november. Going to go audition on saturday just for the hell of it. No one can accuse me of not trying.

I’ve been actively looking for auditions and random community theatre companies for a while, but most of the theatre companies seem to be in random suburbs like hyde park, attleboro, milton, etc. I was going to take an intro acting class last year in davis sq, but it’s a bit of a trek.. was only 5 weeks long though, so maybe i’ll save up $150 and sign up for the next round this fall. Chad’s been encouraging me with my accents, so mad props to that. I also just sent in a photo for a plus size model for knitware ad on CL, and was told i’m not plus size enough. oh well, c’est la vie.
