It was for her birthday. Opera, sensual poetry on the table, candles, lobster bisque, calypso shrimp w mango salsa, coldstone icecream, and a nice romantic setting.

yesterday my girlfriend said that what she would really like is some positive feedback. So I am going to try and say a positive thing every day. More encouragement.
I am not completely sure but I am thinking about preparing a nice romantic diner in our back yard. Like a little bistro. I am thinking of serving a single entre that has salmon, shrimp and vegies with a lobster sauce. But I was also thinking about instead offering a soup also – lobster bisque – but that might be too much lobster. And the entre is going to be pretty huge so she might not want other things. And she tends to like desert so I would have to think of something. luckily it is only the begining of March so I still have a little time. I do wonder about the cost. It probably isn’t in my budget so maybe I shoudl look for a lower priced meal. ah ha the deserts will be godiva chocolate and/or godiva chocolate icecream (served fancy). Just thought of it as I was typing. Awesome.
ok so if I want to do a soup I would have to serve the soup with a lighter entre – maybe the crab cakes covered in lobster sauce (I’m totally going for the fancy effect here – lobster is important!!!)
I think I will print an ellegant invitation and have it delivered to her work. I’ll secretly find out what days are best for her and then leave it at the front desk. The invitation will say “Please join me for diner tonight at 6 pm” Follow the candles. and then a space and then in bold italics “Menu” and then the menu. ah ha – I just thought of another part. I know one of her co-workers and will ask him to deliver it to her office saying someone left this at the front desk for you.
I will have to get tea light candles, and candle holders to light the way. And a white table cloth and candles for the table. and a rose in a vase or something like that. Maybe I could also find/ create some romantic poetry. ah ha another idea – forget the table cloth. I will use paper and in my best handwritting, write out poetry on the paper. I will have set out a small apetizer, silver ware. napkins and wine glasses and water. Have a note saying that I will be out with the food shortly and to have an apetizer, beverage, and to read the table. (But I will certainly say it much nicer.)
She likes this particular opera singer. Maybe I can have some music playing lightly near the table. ( I will have to secretly find out who this opera singer is and figure out a way to get the sound over there.)
ok so now the hard part is settling down on a menu and also the poetry./ romantic verses.
shakespere sonnets, rumi, cavalier poets all come to mind. Certainly some Spanish also.
ok I’m going to grab some books. – poetry and recipe books. and think about this.
the only thing i really did was prepare a valentines diner which was one of her favorite foods in the shape of a heart. We later made love.
She brought me chocolate covered strawberries which we ate together and desert.
It was a good day. Simple but very good.
I bought all her favorite food and beverage things for work and put them in a metal heart basket. This way, whenever she is hungry or thirsty she can have something right in her office. Se absolutely LOVED it and I went to her office yesterday and she has been steadily chowing down. So I will need to refill soon. especially the breakfast stuff and the chocolate. The fruit will probably be gone by the end of the week. The whole thing probably cost about $20 bucks to put together (with refills) but I really think it was priceless!!! A total hit!
