say "no" to people who ask too much of me

so i was doing really well on this, but unfortunalty i kinda let it slip the other day when my housemate asked me for the money to pay the mechanic, i really didnt want to say yes as he’s only just paid me back what hes owed me since before christmas but it was on the spot and i felt bad about saying no as he has paid me back the other stuff and it should only be until wednesday when his cheque clears but even so i should have said no. on the plus side i back on tract slightly as i did say no to lending him my new dvds which i havent watched yet (he isnt very good at giving them back my copy of ice age is still at his girlfriends from march)

depsite everything else in my life at the moment this seems to be going better, i seem to have retrained my house mate not to use as much of much. ok so he still uses a fair amount but ive got all my money back off him and he now asks first about half of the time.

i know people take advanatge of me and for some reason i feel guilty if i say no to lending people money, my phone, my lap top etc, in particular one of my house mates seems to have started to almost assume he has the right to use all my stuff, however im not going to let him anymore, mainly as i got a wake up call when laptop got problems due websites he had been visiting and even after i had fixed it and told him i didnt want him visiting them anymore he did but just delected the internet history but he missed a site plus im not stupid why delete it if theres nothing to hide? so ive started on this one already i think im doing well and its getting easier so far ive reduced the amount he used my phone, only allow him to check his emails when im about and said no to lending him money to pay next month rent cos hes drunk the money he had put aside so i feel like im making progres although i still feel bad about saying no,
