keep my plants alive

My mum has given me a new plant for christmas so im thinking if this one stays alive till the summer and spike is also going strong still then I can happily tick this one off as done

spike the tree is still very much alive, he may be currently living in the kitchen rather than my room (i’ve still not finished unpacking from when I finished uni 3 months ago) but he’s doing rather well

Ive just realised i missed spike’s b’day how bad a mother am i, although really he should be greatfull that hes still alive considering my tract record. anyway i was looking at my photos on my phone as there is one from a over a year ago showing spike when i first got him – yes i know im odd having a photo of my tree on my phone but im sure there was a good reason for taking it!

Its still alive, little spike who isnt quite so little as he was is doing rather well, he survive christmas without me (hes getting rather grown up and independent dont ya know) his leaves are a little dropy today but that may just be because he needs dusting

however forgot to bring it home so hoping that spike my little tree will last 4 weeks without water and possibly in a room where the heating wont turn off (i have a feeling the switch broke yesterday before i left but as it has a thermostat i reckon it would be ok just to leave it but poor little spike may think its suddenly summer again)

Im really impressed with myself my little tree is still going although the leaves are a little yellow at the moment i think because ive re potted it and the soil is a bit rich (can you even get rich soil?) but the main thing is it isnt dead this is a new record for me!
