have a garden

all my plants are now in my office. my apartment is a terrible environment to keep any non-self-sustaining life-form. the ivy plant in my window is doing much better on top of my industrial-sized metal bookshelf here, probably because it isn’t so ridiculously cold and it gets more light. i’m still afraid it may not make it, though, but i suppose we shall see. the little plant i had already had here looks AWESOME, and the other little guy i was keeping in my bedroom is looking much livlier in his new home.

next i want to grow something from a seed; i’m thinking marigolds or something painfully simple. these, of course, will more-likely-than-not live at my office as well. my apartment garden will consist of flowers i’ve crocheted, as i now own a book with all kind of crocheted flower patterns in it.

yesterday i bought two plants; one is staying in my bedroom, and one is in our kitchen window. they’re quite lovely; now i just hope i don’t kill them.

seeds won’t be available until closer to the spring, so i’ll have to wait on that.

also, none of this actually counts as a garden, but since i can’t have one until i own a house, which is years away, this will do just fine.

i’d like to start this soon; i feel like i’d be more comfortable at my apartment if it were more cheerful in there. and plants are cheerful. (so it’s not really a garden, but it’ll be a start until i can have space outdoors.) i have to go to michael’s in the next week for secret craft materials, so i’ll stop by home depot while i’m in the area and see what will happen.

i’d like to know i can not kill plants. which is all i’ve done in the past. this can’t happen in the next few months, but hopefully around april i have the time and everything-else to at least have some marigolds in my bedroom or something. perhaps someday, i’ll move up to tomatoes. :)
