Make new friends, but keep the old

I just made a reservation for Jackson’s tonight. This planning has been…interesting.

On the 8th, with a mini-celebration for JE’s birthday. So far, LH is out, EB is in, and LBF is probably. :)

2. Have to figure out a moms night out together to celebrate JE’s birthday. (new)

Being at Z’s bris yesterday was so meaningful to me: I have loved his mommy since I was 16 years old, and now I love his daddy, and I feel this grounded milestone of community and friendship.

was a reminder that I want to pursue new friendships with some of the acquaintances in my community.

I am so glad I’ve kept up things with J. Thank goodness she’s moved to my state!

It is the only thing keeping me sane right now.

I saw M yesterday, and I was so glad to see her- but I realized that it’s been a year since I’ve gotten together with her. Which is absolutely ridiculous. I am letting potential friends slip away- and goodness knows I need all the friends I can get!

So it’s time to make some calls and plans and get the group together again.

It was so great to see I again last weekend.

It is really silly that we had let so much time pass since we had seen one another. I have to make it a priority to get together with her, as well as J and J and other people that I don’t want to let slip away.

Dear, dear T came to visit for a few days this past week. She just left this morning. The last time we had been together, I had traveled with Frogette to stay at her place to help her and her family with the new baby and her surgery. Right after that, she moved to a different state, much farther away, so I’ve really been feeling her absence.

The new baby is now a year old, and absolutely delightful. T’s older daughter has been with Frogette a few times now- once on our families’ joint vacation in AZ when they were three, once in MA for our college reunion, and the time I went to help T, so they were very excited to get to play with each other again. They stayed up super late all three nights, delighted at their “slumber party”, giggling into the wee hours no matter how much we scolded.

Frog was working late most of the time T and family were here, and T’s husband didn’t join her, so while Frogette and T’s older daughter occupied one another, T and I got to do a great deal of talking. It truly delights me, that this beautiful, brilliant woman that I met in 1988 is still as dear to me today. I admired and adored her then, and I still admire and adore her now. Lucky us!
