Not perfect but good enough

as time goes by I get them better. but for now here they are the left one is the newer one.

Better much better

this new one is much better then the last. Not perfect but a decent one that if I can just get a bit more shine to I’ll show off.

Well we gave it another go.

I tried again last night with the same batch of sand/dirt as before and this one looks far more promising. It’s sort of sitting and curing right now at the apartment but it’s might turn out better then my first try. it also amazed me that it looks harder and darker despite being the exact same sand/dirt.

Iteresting and sort of fun. If It polishes nicely I’ll get a photo and mark it as done.

not an immediate success

(lets try this again, eat my post will ya). I gave this a go and it was some what enjoyable if a bit messy at first. The end result was less then shiny and attempts to shine it up chipped a divot out of the botttom to the grainier interior.

I’m going to give it another attempt in the coming week. To see if I have figured out some of the things that caused my troubles.

totally spaced on this

Didn’t get the home soil, but i should still be able to use what I’ve got to try it out. I think this can be one of the things I do over the next few days.

I’m looking to just be around, not go anywhere, not run any errands and not disipate my energy so much. Just sit down and focus on a few things to take care of and be creative with.

I've a little of the dirt from the apartment

but as I was thinking about it I’m going up to my mums house this weekend and visiting the town I grew up in. I lived there for twenty some odd years and it’s still the perfect little town I remember. There is this little dirt road I used to walk back when I was approaching my teen years and struggling with depression and deep thinking. It seems the perfect chance to gather a peice of that to work with. That would be one I will cherish always.

I'm just going to

I’ll just give it a go in a few days time when free time is available.

I’d forgotten this until of all things I found an empty birds nest in the mulch of the land ladies garden.
I got to thinking of how a few eggs might look nice in there as a dcorative peice. and then my brain suggested that there was a way to make eggs from the mud that could be made from dirt road and driveways. So I’m going to give it a go. and see about making some tiny ones. I like working on a small scale.
