so between the guitar book and the childrens play the recorder books I’ve found over the last month at goodwill I should be able to do this some time between now and feb.
Why so long. I’ve set the goal on some of my other tasks to be done by the end of the year. Theytake priority. And I don’t know if I can learn a programing language, sumerian cuneiform and mathmatics, plus write three novels and edit and publish a work of mine and… a few others by the end of the year and still try to learn to play an instrument.

I’d really like to learn flute (recorder) or harp, but seeing as how the instrument that has seen fit to make itself most availablle to me is theguitar that’s where I’ll start.
My local thrift shop has recently put several guitars up for sale and I bought a learn to play guitar book for a dollar that covers it all.
I’m sorely out of practice with my music from being a precussionist in high school and this is an entirely differant area. So it’s best to start from scratch.

Flute or harp?

I’m thinking that flute fits me nicely. Mainly because it can be something that I can make myself from simple to find and cheap or free parts, can vary in size or style and can be transported easily enough. Plus the whole flute and drum bit.
but harp has definite appeal too. I just don’t know if I’m suited to strings.
Most of that is mildly moot as I have yet to actual sit down and try to relearn how to read music. That is the first step. Once I do that and learn the instrument basics I’d like to use that to write a song for use in my message in a bottle goal.
