Now that Carlos and I are definitely vegetarian and almost vegan I have wanted to cook food from different parts of the world. I decided to buy all the ingredients and try making this. I even had leftovers to take over to Carlos, which he appreciated. I found them to be a bit bitter when I tried them alone but once I decided to have some chutney which was store-bought with it is was really delicious.

Here is the recipe:
Pakora Power!
Ingredients (use vegan versions):
3/4 cup garbanzo bean flour/chick pea flour (available at the nearest Bulk Barn or wherever you can get it)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
a bit of garlic powder or onion powder if you wish!
pinch of cayenne
about 1/2 cup of water, give or take
Any veggies cut up bite size preferably: shroomies, broccoli, cauliflower
oil for deep fryingDirections:
Heat the oil in a wok or deep fryer.
Mix together the dry ingredients.
Add the water, sloowly, ok right there, like pancake batter (not the thin crepe-type batter)!
Dip the veggies in the batter. Carefully drop into hot oil, and flip’m until they’re golden suns of sweet goodness.
Voila! Enjoy with chutney! If you don’t have it, make a version with hot chili peppers, tomato sauce, sugar, and coriander.
Whhhaaaoooa!
