Quilt book done

Finished up the quilt book at the end of April while we were on a business trip to California. Now working through a half sized marbled one. It’ll go faster since it has lines in it and they’re BIG. Then it’ll be back to unlined half sized book for probably another 4 ish months.

done with the green

I’m done with the green bound book. I’d solved the red ink problem by covering the book with decoupage. Now I’m working on a half size bound book with a quilt pattern on it. I also “donated” a cruddy stapled orange one to work to take meeting notes. So I’m technically using two, but I don’t want work info in my personal books, so it’s okay.

3 in one fell swoop

I finished up that 5-star notebook a while back and forgot to mention it, too.

But the big news is that my dear chronically-financially-challenged sister needed school supplies, and was all too happy to take unused pencils and notebooks off my hands. So now the last of the perforated 5-star notebooks are GONE!

Now plugging away at my green hardbound journal. I got bored and did a red Sharpie drawing on the back, which turned out to be a mistake and now turns my clothes pink whenever it touches them. Left work one day with both legs of my jeans bright pink, and large pink splotches on my tan jacket from carrying it around and writing in my lap. Felt a little 90s punk.

Horse book

I had a slightly embarrassing Black Beauty Journal from when I was a kid. I covered it with stickers to hide the stupid horse on the cover. Finally got it filled up so I’m not hauling it to work every day anymore.

Now plowing through a perforated 5-star spiral-bound book. The fun thing is that the pages are letter sized, so I’ve been running them through the printer for my calendar pages instead of using copy paper. Been taking a lot of kitchen notes lately, so being able to tear the page out and tape it to a cupboard door is handy.

Curses

I want one of these:

First time I’ve actually desired to own a Molskine…

Another one down

And still rolling forward. They’re going to be finished less frequently from here on out as they’re all larger and have more paper than the completed ones, but as long as I keep up my writing I’ll be ok. Probably still won’t buy paper for years and years.

Finished another

And now on to more of the work/journal/class notes ones I’ve been using. That’s working fairly well for me in fact. I like everything being in one place.

Drat

Went to a social event last night, and what did they pass out? Notebooks. In which we took notes for the session. It is half-sheet sized, though, so it is one I’ll like using. Add it to the pile, I guess.

Conserving Resources

We had a talk about conserving resources at work, so I brought in all of my perforated notebooks and put them in my desk there. I’m now using them for personal and work writing, rather than getting a new notebook out of the supply room. Saving theirs, getting rid of my excesses. Two birds, one stone!

Also, I have a huge glut of loose leaf still. I’m going to see how our printer handles it and try to print my planner for next year on that instead of going to the printer’s for a new one. Cheaper, and I can try out using a binder for a planner, so I can insert my notebook notes in the appropriate sections and only carry one “book” around.

Another one down

Finished up the notepads with my name on them and the spiralbound notebook. On another spiralbound. Now that I’m working on projects, I have sections for notes, and they generally go faster than my usual writing, so hopefully I’ll be done with this one soon and tackling the next.

I’ve also blown through a few pens. Considering my mild disgust at using a freebie Bic with advertising on it for my day-to-day writing, I may have a big donation to the church coming up soon. Then I can buy myself some nicer pens, or the Sharpie pencils I’ve been eying since they came out! I know I’m weird, but I like crappy notebooks and nice pens.
