I won in the beginner bread division over two zucchini breads with my anadama!
The other two divisions I entered I didn’t win, but I got 70% on my spinach bread and 87% on my anadama. So not terrible. One comment on both cards that annoys me though is “crust is tough”. Duh, of course it is. Good bread has a nice thick chewy crust in my opinion. Thank goodness I didn’t put slashes in the top to add MORE!
I think I’m going to do a sourdough next year. May be a bit risky because the winning sourdough this year was super light colored, and mine are more rustic and dark. And if they thought the spinach bread was bitter, they might not like super tangy sour flavors either. (Especially since my sourdough is SF-style… SUPER tangy!)
